Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration's commitment to fostering strategic partnerships aimed at boosting access to clean water and affordable housing across the county.

Speaking during a courtesy call by a delegation from Habitat for Humanity Kenya, Governor Wavinya underscored the vital role of development collaborations in fast-tracking transformative projects that uplift communities.

“We are looking for partners with whom we can implement more water projects together, such as weirs, because water is very key,” Governor Wavinya stated, adding that the county has already constructed about 36 weirs which have enabled residents to embrace agricultural activities in previously dry areas.

The governor emphasized the county’s focus on scaling up such initiatives through teamwork and innovation, reiterating that improved water access and decent housing are central to enhancing living standards.

In response, officials from Habitat for Humanity Kenya praised the Machakos County Government for its proactive leadership and supportive environment for development partners.

“We commend Governor Wavinya for her openness to collaboration and unwavering support. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership through impactful community projects,” the delegation said.

The continued cooperation between Machakos County and Habitat for Humanity Kenya is expected to spur further progress in infrastructure development, community empowerment, and sustainable living solutions.
