Embattled ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has declared that the ODM's Linda Mwananchi faction, will release a People’s Report this Wednesday, exposing the failure of the 10-point agenda signed between the late Raila Odinga and President William Ruto. The announcement came as frustration grows over the inability of the appointed committee to deliver its report within the prescribed timeline.

Speaking at a Church Harambe at Mumbuni AIC, invited by Kaiti MP Joshua Kimilu, and later addressing a rally at Mukuyuni Market, Sifuna said the agreement between ODM and UDA expired on March 7. He challenged anyone seeking to extend it to obtain the authorization of Raila Odinga, who is now resting in Bondo.

“Yesterday marked the end of the ODM–UDA agreement. If anyone wants to extend it, the only person who can authorize it is Baba himself,” Sifuna said, adding that the committee led by Agnes Zani had failed to provide the promised national framework for implementing the two-thirds gender rule.

Sifuna criticized the government for ignoring key provisions of the agreement, including the protection of young people and the prevention of abductions. He said over 20 youths have been killed since the agreement was signed, citing the case of Albert Ojwang, who was allegedly strangled while in police custody. He also referenced the abduction of Bobu Njagi, taken to Uganda for simply opposing dictatorial tendencies.

“This government has failed to respect an agreement signed personally by Raila Odinga. If they cannot respect Baba, will they respect anyone else?” he asked.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino condemned the government’s handling of Nairobi’s flooding, linking the disaster to poor urban planning and inadequate drainage systems. He also denounced the failure to implement the 10-point agenda, noting that promises of ending corruption, creating jobs for women and youth, and stopping abductions have not been fulfilled.

“Yesterday marked the end of this so-called political marriage. The government promised us jobs, safety, and opportunities for our women and youth—yet corruption persists, young people are still being killed, and abductions continue,” Babu said. He emphasized that mass demonstrations would be the only way to demand accountability if the government continued to ignore citizens’ grievances.

Makueni Senator Daniel Maanzo decried the ongoing disappearances and killings of youths, saying, “Kenyans are not celebrating today’s International Women’s Day. Mothers are in tears because their children have disappeared or been killed brutally, and justice has not been served.”

Mavoko MP Patrick Makau described Sifuna’s faction as “the third team that will liberate this country,” urging the government to respect the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech, movement, and association. He criticized the police for violating citizens’ rights during rallies and warned that attempts to intimidate the group would not succeed.

Kilome MP Thaddeus Nzambia expressed full confidence in the team led by Sifuna and Babu, predicting that by the end of the year, most Members of Parliament would align with them. “This is the only team that can salvage the country. The future of our nation lies in our hands,” Nzambia said.

Sifuna also addressed the people of Ukambani, thanking them for their steadfast support of Raila Odinga and warning against listening to individuals allegedly bought off by political interests. He underscored the importance of standing firm in defending Baba’s legacy and ensuring that agreements meant to protect citizens are implemented.

The People’s Report, to be presented in Nairobi on Wednesday, is expected to outline the government’s shortcomings in implementing the late leader’s vision and propose actions to hold those responsible accountable.
