Wiper Patriotic Front grassroots leaders in Mwala Constituency have endorsed Hon. Thomas Kasoa and Hon. Pascal Ndei Nzioki to take charge of the party’s constituency branch on an interim basis as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 General Election.
Kasoa was unanimously elected Interim Constituency Branch Chairman, while Ndei was endorsed as the Interim Branch Secretary during a consultative meeting bringing together Wiper grassroots leaders from all six wards of Mwala Constituency.
The leaders said the interim leadership would be responsible for coordinating and strengthening Wiper activities at the grassroots, rebuilding party structures and mobilising members ahead of the 2027 polls.
“We unanimously elect Hon. Thomas Kasoa as the Interim Constituency Branch Chairman and Hon. Pascal Ndei Nzioki as the Interim Branch Secretary to coordinate and strengthen party activities within Mwala Branch,” the leaders said in their resolutions.
The endorsement comes at a time when Wiper is seeking to consolidate its grassroots structures across Ukambani ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The leaders resolved to intensify recruitment, mobilisation and public engagement across the six wards, with the aim of positioning the party for a strong electoral showing.
The new interim officials will oversee the coordination of party activities across Mwala as Wiper seeks to strengthen its presence ahead of the elections.
The grassroots leaders also praised efforts to establish functional Wiper offices in Masii and Mbiuni wards, saying the two offices had already recruited more than 20,000 members.
They said refurbishment of party offices in Muthetheni and Ikalaasa wards was ongoing, while preparations were underway to establish offices in Mwala and Wamunyu wards.
The leaders resolved to support the expansion of the party offices to ensure Wiper maintains what they described as a “functional and accessible presence across all six wards.”
They specifically commended Kasoa for his efforts in supporting party activities and strengthening Wiper’s grassroots presence in the constituency.
Apart from endorsing the interim branch leadership, the grassroots leaders reaffirmed their support for Wiper leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid.
“We support Kalonzo to be the 6th President,” the leaders declared.
They pledged to commence sustained mobilisation and organisational preparations across Mwala Branch, with an objective of helping Wiper win the parliamentary seat and all six MCA positions in the constituency in 2027.
The resolutions also condemned recent public utterances attributed to Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, saying the remarks appeared to demean Kalonzo and the Wiper Patriotic Front leadership.
“We condemn recent public utterances attributed to Mwala MP, Hon. Vincent Musyoka, which appear to demean Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and the Wiper Patriotic Front leadership,” the leaders stated.
They further rejected what they termed “persistent propaganda and misleading claims” concerning Kalonzo’s leadership and contribution to the region and the country.
The grassroots leaders called for discipline among elected leaders, party officials and members, urging them to respect party structures and avoid public statements that could undermine party unity.
They resolved to defend the unity, integrity and institutional strength of Wiper Patriotic Front against what they described as attempts by individuals or external interests to create divisions within the party.
The leaders also declared that the current national administration had little political space in the constituency.
“The current administration that is burdening Kenyans has no space in Mwala,” they said.
The resolutions were signed by Hon. Pascal Ndei Nzioki in his capacity as Interim Secretary, Mwala Branch.
