The Wiper Patriotic Front has mounted a strong and wide-ranging attack on President William Ruto’s administration, describing it as a “three-year disaster” marked by lies, theft and failed leadership, while declaring party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the best alternative for the country.

In a hard-hitting press statement titled “Enough is Enough,” Wiper Secretary General Senator Shakila Abdalla accused President Ruto of misleading Kenyans and taking credit for development projects he allegedly helped to sabotage in the past.

At the centre of the claims is the Kibwezi–Mutomo–Kitui–Bondoni road. The party says the project was secured in 2011 after then Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka obtained funding from China. However, Wiper alleges that during the Jubilee administration, senior government officials deliberately frustrated the project by writing to lenders claiming it was not economically viable.

According to the statement, President Ruto later reintroduced the same project for political gain, an act the party termed dishonest and deceptive.

“This is not leadership. This is fraud,” the statement said, accusing the President of misleading the public for political optics.

Wiper extended its criticism beyond infrastructure, accusing President Ruto of concentrating power and weakening democratic institutions. The party claimed Parliament, state corporations and key government offices have been captured, describing the President as authoritarian despite operating under a democratic system.

The statement also raised alarm over what it called the planned sale or concession of major national assets, including Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Kenya Pipeline Company and Safaricom. Wiper further accused the President of prioritising foreign travel and deals abroad while neglecting the needs of Kenyans at home.

On social services, the party criticised changes in the health sector, claiming the replacement of NHIF with the new Social Health Authority (SHA/SHIF) has failed patients and weakened healthcare delivery. The education sector was also cited as being in crisis, with teachers and students frequently protesting over unresolved issues.

Wiper argued that President Ruto’s record disqualifies him from speaking about development, insisting that development is a constitutional right and not a political favour.

In contrast, the party praised Kalonzo Musyoka’s leadership record, pointing to his role in promoting integrity, stability and long-term planning under the Vision 2030 framework.

Looking ahead to the 2027 General Election, Wiper dismissed opinion polls favouring the current administration, saying they are manufactured and do not reflect the true will of the people. The party said the real voice of Kenyans is captured in the slogan “Kalonzo Tosha.”

The statement concluded by calling on Kenyans to use constitutional means to remove President Ruto from office in 2027, accusing his administration of state capture, corruption and betrayal of the country’s democratic gains.

“President William Ruto has exhausted his welcome with the Kenyan people,” the statement said, declaring that his time in office will come to an end at the ballot.
