A new chapter in quality education is unfolding in Kathome, Machakos County, as the renowned Earlybird Group of Schools launches its latest addition — Earlybird Senior School.
Set to open in January 2026, the institution promises to offer a transformative learning experience for learners advancing to Grade 10 under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
Nestled next to the existing Earlybird Primary and Junior Schools, the new Senior School is fully equipped and ready to welcome its first cohort of students.
According to the Principal, Mr. Samuel Ndung’u, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to nurture excellence in academics, innovation, and talent development.
“In terms of facilities, I can assure you we are ready to admit the first group of boys and girls as day and boarding scholars at the beginning of January next year,” said Mr. Ndung’u during an interview with Soo TV at the new facility.
Earlybird Senior School offers learners the opportunity to specialize in three pathways — STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Social Sciences, and Sports Science & Performing Arts.
In addition to four compulsory subjects, learners will choose their preferred pathway in Grade 10, setting them on a clear trajectory toward their future careers.
The school has already recruited 15 qualified teachers dedicated to guiding students through these specialized areas. The principal noted that the institution’s approach blends rigorous academic preparation with holistic development — ensuring learners are not only knowledgeable but also creative, disciplined, and socially responsible.
Among the school’s impressive facilities are a fully equipped science laboratory, a modern library, and a well-organized laundry facility to cater to boarding students. The institution also places strong emphasis on co-curricular excellence, with provisions for swimming, football, volleyball, skating, and other sporting activities to help learners identify and grow their unique talents.
