Wiper Democratic Movement Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, accusing him of derailing key Vision 2030 projects and presiding over a government riddled with unfulfilled promises and constant strikes.
Speaking during a public rally in Mutituni, Machakos County, on Saturday, Kalonzo said the right to development is enshrined in the Constitution and cannot be treated as a personal favour by the President.
“The right to development is a constitutional right, not a whim of an individual. Every region in Kenya has an equal right to development regardless of their political affiliation,” Kalonzo declared.
He singled out three flagship projects—High Falls Dam, Konza City, and Thwake Dam—claiming that they had either stalled or been cancelled under Ruto’s administration.
“Mr. Ruto, you cancelled the High Falls Dam Vision 2030 project because you wanted the contract. Konza City is in limbo because of you. As for the Thwake Dam, ni wewe umekanyaga breki!” Kalonzo charged.
The Wiper leader further accused the government of failing to address the country’s growing wave of strikes, citing recent industrial actions by teachers, doctors, and university lecturers.
“Kenya has become a striking nation. Every month there is a strike. The only group that hasn’t gone on strike is the United Opposition, because we have a duty to rescue and liberate Kenya from your destruction,” he said.
Kalonzo insisted that Kenyans are eager to remove President Ruto from power, describing the #WANTAM movement as both “a reality and an eventuality.”
