Trump nominates Henry Wooster as new U.S. ambassador to Kenya

By Fredrick Kioko. U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated veteran diplomat Henry Wooster as the next United States ambassador to Kenya, marking a key diplomatic appointment between Washington and Nairobi.

Wooster, a seasoned foreign service officer, has previously served in senior diplomatic roles, including as acting ambassador to Jordan and Haiti, giving him extensive experience in international relations and crisis diplomacy.

If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, he will take over from Amb. Meg Whitman, who completed her tenure in 2024.
