One person has died and five others were seriously injured following a horrific accident involving four lorries at Masimba, Makindu, along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway.
According to Masimba Traffic Base Commander Gatonga Ndiritu, the accident occurred around 2:00 am and resulted in a major traffic snarl-up after the lorries blocked the busy highway.
Emergency responders rushed the injured victims to a private hospital in Emali, where they are currently undergoing treatment. The body of the deceased has been taken to the Makindu Hospital mortuary.
Police officers remain at the scene working to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.
