Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i today joined United Opposition leaders Rigathi Gachagua and Justin Muturi for a Sunday service at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Njambini Parish, where he delivered a powerful message on governance, accountability, and national priorities.

Addressing congregants after the service, Dr. Matiang’i expressed concern over the government’s continued plea for more time in office. “Kenyans are yet to see meaningful results from the mandate already granted,” he said. “Our country is not on the development path citizens expected. Urgent leadership focused on service delivery and economic stability is needed now.”

Dr. Matiang’i also reiterated the United Opposition’s commitment to restoring dignity in public service and improving the welfare of frontline workers.

“A future opposition administration will restore comprehensive medical insurance for police officers and teachers, reverse the Social Health Authority framework, and implement reforms to restore sanity and stability in the education sector,” he announced.

The leaders further highlighted concerns over the government’s silence on Kenyan youth affected by the Russia–Ukraine conflict, emphasizing the importance of responsive leadership that safeguards citizens both at home and abroad.

“The United Opposition will continue engaging Kenyans across the country as part of our commitment to national renewal and inclusive governance,” Dr. Matiang’i concluded, signaling a renewed focus on accountability and citizen-centered leadership.
