Makueni MP Susan Kiamba has come out swinging in defense of Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2027 presidential ambitions, delivering a fiery message to Kenya Kwanza leaders: Respect Kalonzo or keep off!
Speaking at a spirited fundraising event at Unoa Comprehensive School, Kiamba made it clear that the Kamba region is firmly behind Kalonzo’s bid for the presidency.
She welcomed the goodwill shown through development efforts like harambees but drew a hard line against using such events to undermine the Wiper boss.
“We know William Ruto is the President today. But come 2027, the man on the ballot from this region will be Kalonzo Musyoka — and we are not apologizing for that,” she declared boldly, taking direct aim at leaders pushing for the community to back Ruto’s re-election.
Kiamba expressed appreciation for development support from the current administration, but demanded respect for the region's political direction.
She addressed Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse — a vocal Ruto ally and chief guest at the event — urging him and others to maintain mutual respect despite political differences.
“Development is welcome, and we’ll support your harambees too — but our political stand must be respected,” she stated.
Mwengi, elected on a Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket, used the platform to push back against “politicizing development,” urging unity beyond party lines.
“The school bus we are funding today won’t bear any party colours. It’s for our children. Let’s build our region together without letting politics divide us,” Mwengi said.
Before heading to Unoa, Mwengi had led a powerful Kenya Kwanza delegation at a women empowerment fundraiser in Makindu, where warnings were issued to Kalonzo Musyoka over his reported political overtures to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“These tribal elements are targeting Kalonzo. We warn him to be careful. That man we sent home is obsessed with power-sharing — soon he’ll be demanding numbers from Kalonzo!” Said Farouk Kibeti, a close aide to President Ruto.
As political temperatures continue to rise in Ukambani, one thing is clear — the battle lines for 2027 are already being drawn, and Kalonzo Musyoka’s name is right at the center of the storm.
