Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has launched a scathing attack on former President Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing him of inciting Kenyan youth against President William Ruto’s government.
Speaking in Makindu during a Women Empowerment Fundraiser organized by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse Kingi did not mince his words, stating that Uhuru had a decade in power to address youth unemployment but failed to deliver.
“Some people led this country for ten years and did nothing for the youth. Now, they are pretending to have solutions and are busy inciting the youth. If you couldn’t help them while in power, what will you do now?” Kingi said.
The Senate Speaker urged Kenyans to be patient with the Kenya Kwanza administration, insisting that President Ruto is committed to solving youth unemployment and other longstanding issues.
Adding to the political heat, President Ruto’s close ally Farouk Kibet tore into former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s new political outfit, Democratic Congress Party (DCP), branding it a tribal formation.
“Those forming tribal parties are just hiding behind lies — we know them. Didn’t Mutuse chase them away recently? We say, away with the devil!” Farouk declared.
He issued a stern warning to the Kamba community and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, cautioning them against forming political alliances with Gachagua.
“These tribal elements are targeting Kalonzo Musyoka. We warn him to be careful. That man we sent home is very keen on shares — soon he’ll be telling Kalonzo to bring his numbers,” said Farouk.
Despite President Ruto postponing his three-day visit to Ukambani counties, MP Mwengi Mutuse defended the administration’s commitment to development in the region.
He cited the ongoing Housing project saying that it had created a lot of jobs for the youth.
Other leaders who attended the fundraiser included Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, Senator Tabitha Mutinda, and Kangundo MP Fabian Kyule among others.
