Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has accused President William Ruto’s administration of presiding over rampant corruption, mismanagement of education, and compromising Kenya’s sovereignty, vowing that his party will spearhead change ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during a media briefing at the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) headquarters on Tuesday, Musyoka said Kenyans have grown weary of scandals under the Kenya Kwanza regime, warning that the country’s future was being mortgaged by “a disgraced government.”
“There is something fundamentally wrong with the state of Kenya under the existing regime. Scandal after scandal and attempts to sell off Kenya’s crucial infrastructure on the cheap are the modus operandi of this disgraced regime,” said Musyoka.
On education, the former Vice President decried delays in capitation funds, which he said were forcing pupils out of school and universities to issue false fee disbursement alerts.
“Capitation must be released today, not tomorrow. University funding must also be made available to all universities. Mr Ruto, stop playing with Kenya’s future,” he charged.
Turning to the controversial Social Health Authority (SHA), Musyoka alleged the loss of Sh10.6 billion to fictitious hospitals and non-existent patient files, while faith-based health facilities shut down due to unpaid claims. He further cited a Sh104.8 billion contract awarded to a questionable consortium, terming it “systemic corruption.”
“Corruption in the healthcare sector is genocide, plain and simple. As the Government-in-Waiting, we will insist on the perpetrators being tried for crimes against humanity,” he warned.
Musyoka also criticized what he termed as “digital impunity” in the management of public funds through the E-Citizen platform, and raised concerns about foreign troops in Mandera County, calling it “an occupation under international law.”
On the political front, he urged tolerance and equal security for all Kenyans, while rallying citizens to register as voters when the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rolls out the exercise on September 29.
“This is the way we shall rescue and reclaim our beloved nation from the rotten regime. Together, we shall #KomboaKenya,” he said.
