Nzeve Nzau: I’ll Seek Kitui Central Seat on My Record, Not Empty Promises

UDA Kitui Central parliamentary aspirant Boniface Mutisya Musambi, popularly known as Nzeve Nzau, says his 2027 election campaign will be anchored on his record of service and tangible development efforts rather than promises of what he intends to do if elected.

Musambi spoke on Friday, September 25, 2026, during an empowerment and public engagement forum in Kyangwithya West Ward, Kitui Central, where he told residents that leadership should be demonstrated through action even before one assumes political office.

He said he would not wait until he is elected to begin serving the people, arguing that his approach is to demonstrate what he has already done for the community.

“Mimi sitafanya siasa za kuwaahidi wananchi nitakachowafanyia nikishaingia kwenye kiti. Nitafanya siasa za kuwafanyia kazi hata kabla ya kuingia kwenye kiti hicho,” Musambi said.

The aspirant pointed to his efforts to lobby for development projects in Kitui, saying his engagements had helped draw the attention of President William Ruto and the national government to key projects in the area.

Among the projects he cited were the construction of the Ithookwe Stadium, renovation of the Ithookwe Airstrip and improvements at the Kitui State Lodge.

Musambi said the projects form part of the record he wants residents to consider as they assess candidates ahead of the 2027 parliamentary election.

He recalled engaging President Ruto on the need for Kitui to have a modern sporting facility comparable to major stadiums in other parts of the country.

“Niliangaliana na Rais William Ruto na nikamwambia kwamba, kama vile maeneo mengine yana Talanta Stadium na Kasarani Stadium, sisi pia tunataka Ithookwe Stadium,” he said.

Musambi further stressed the importance of maintaining strong working relations with the national government, saying such engagement could help attract development projects and resources to Kitui Central.

The Kyangwithya West forum was part of his ongoing engagement with residents as he seeks to clinch the Kitui Central parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.

He said his campaign would continue to focus on service, development and demonstrating tangible results, while urging voters to consider both candidates’ records and leadership values when making their choices.
