Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has come out guns blazing against President William Ruto, accusing him of interfering with the county’s internal affairs and fueling political instability in the Machakos County Assembly.

Speaking during a Sunday worship service at AIC Baraka in Mumbuni, Machakos Town constituency, a visibly agitated Wavinya claimed that Ruto’s administration was behind the chaos crippling operations at the county assembly.

"The way we have given you stability to run Kenya and other counties is the same way I expect you to give me stability to work for the people of Machakos. The same people I'm working for in Machakos are the same you are working for. You and I are elected, the Speaker is not. You should not stoop that low," Wavinya stated.

The governor pointed fingers at Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua and MPs Caleb Mule (Machakos Town), Vincent Musau (Mwala), and Patrick Makau (Mavoko), accusing them of being agents of political sabotage allegedly orchestrated from the top.

"We know who is using them. That is why they have brought all this bile in the assembly in order to bring down my leadership," she said.

Wavinya also took a swipe at Machakos County Assembly Speaker Ann Kiusya, accusing her of incompetence and threatening to rally residents to eject her from office.

"We will kick her out of office because she is not able to engage MCAs. She can't manage them. As a leader, you should learn to accommodate other people," Wavinya warned.

The governor further cautioned President Ruto against undermining Ukambani leaders, noting that any attempts to do so could jeopardize his planned visit to the region.

Wavinya also dismissed recent overtures by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki inviting Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to join the Kenya Kwanza government, saying such moves lacked sincerity.
