By Fredrick Kioko. A section of leaders has strongly condemned Makueni Senator Daniel Maanzo over alleged remarks directed at the wife of Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr, calling for greater respect and dignity in political discourse.

Principal Secretary Terry Mbaika led the criticism, urging leaders to uphold respect for women, saying any form of abuse against one woman amounts to disrespect for all women. She emphasized the need for responsibility and decorum among public officials, warning against personal attacks in politics.

Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse also weighed in on the matter, urging leaders to keep families out of political disputes. He noted that relatives of political leaders should not be dragged into public confrontations, calling for restraint and maturity in political engagements.

Separately, Kisoi Munyao condemned the alleged remarks, terming them an insult to women across the country. He criticized the senator’s conduct and insisted that leaders must promote respect, dignity, and civility in all public exchanges.

The leaders collectively urged political actors to avoid inflammatory language and protect the dignity of families from political hostility.
