Five people, including a child, have lost their lives in a grisly road accident this evening at Mwatungo area along the Matuu–Mwingi road.
The accident occurred when a 14-seater matatu travelling from Nairobi towards Mwingi lost control and rolled several times, killing three men, a woman, and a young child on the spot.
Several other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Kithyoko Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been moved to Mwingi Level 5 Hospital mortuary as authorities launch investigations into the cause of the crash.
